The First Crazy Mexican - Vodka, tequila and a fur-lined sombrero!
In 1939, famed Mexican industrialist, Juan Miguel Castillo, married exiled Russian aristocrat, Anna Gorsky. The reception took place at his palace in Mexico. On one side of the Grand Ballroom was a bar stocked with Mexican tequila; on the other side was a bar stocked with Russian vodka.

With great flair and much sweat dripping from his brow, he mixed a shot of vodka with a shot of tequila announcing, "This is to celebrate the joining of these two fiery spirits." He added a dash of guarana and a squeeze of lime and shouted, "Here's to a great night of passion." His accompanying hand gestures prompted one of the Russians to shout, "That's one crazy Mexican."
